THE QUESTION MARK ITSELF

"I am not crying wolf — for all I know, I might be the wolf himself. Personal notes toward Am I Really Free?, a feature documentary premiering 1 October 2026."

The piece that sets the standard for everything after it. It reaches for Kant's innate right to freedom and Wilde's De Profundis — a letter written from inside an institution by a man the system had already reframed — and lands on the diary filmmakers (Akerman, Perlov, Mekas) to make one argument: self-documentation is a tradition, not a symptom. It is the written companion to the film, and the answer to why the title stays a question.

"Out of more than 25,000 students, three of us got picked. Four years later, I found the footage. Let me show you."

The other side of 2022. While one institution was processing him as a patient, another was putting him in its advertising — and he did not see it for four years. Sits directly against the academic record, where the First Class Honours degree that year is published in full, and against the timeline that dates the conferral to the fortnight he was an inpatient.
